The pioneering Hong Kong project adopts Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) technology to provide 4 Student Hostels for 1,200 students with a podium and four towers for the University of Hong Kong (HKU) at Wong Chuk Hang. The site is off the HKU Main Campus, although relatively close to the campus with the easiest commute via the soon to be completed MTR Southern Island Line. The challenge is to create a sense of belongings to the students, create a strong identity of HKU’s facilities while balancing the expectations of the nearby residents and neighborhood.
